The Santa Cruz Association of REALTORS® Housing Foundation invites you to attend its sixth annual fundraising event, "A Taste of Santa Cruz" which will be held on Thursday, November 4th from 5:30-9:00 pm at the Cocoanut Grove Grand Ballroom in Santa Cruz. Tickets are $30 each in advance and $35 at the door. 31 booth sponsors are pairing up with some of the best restaurants and wineries in Santa Cruz County to offer samplings of delectable food and exquisite wines. Consider doing your holiday shopping at our silent and live auctions by purchasing unique and creative items.
"A Taste of Santa Cruz" was first implemented in the Fall of 2005 as a major fundraising event for the newly created SCAOR Housing Foundation. REALTOR and Affiliate members of the Santa Cruz Association of REALTORS purchase booths and then ask a local restaurant and/or winery to join them in providing a wide variety of delicacies and wine for the public to enjoy, while also raising funds for the community. The event consistently raises over $50,000 each year with proceeds going to fund the SCAOR Housing Foundation’s Closing Cost Assistance Grant Program. This program provides grants to first time, low income home buyers in Santa Cruz County.
In the four years since "A Taste of Santa Cruz" has been held, $211,000 has collectively been raised with 100% of the proceeds going toward the Closing Cost Assistance Grant Program.More than 41 families in our community have been given the keys to their first homes due to the overwhelming financial success of "A Taste of Santa Cruz".
