"A Taste of Santa Cruz" was first implemented in the Fall of 2005 as a major fundraising event for the Santa Cruz Association of REALTORS Housing Foundation. REALTOR and Affiliate members of the SCCAR purchase booths and then ask a local restaurant and/or winery to join them in providing a wide variety of delicacies and wine for the public to enjoy, while also raising funds for the community. The event consistently raises over $30,000 each year with proceeds going to fund the SCAOR Housing Foundation's Closing Cost Assistance Grant Program. In the eight years since "A Taste of Santa Cruz" has been held, over $300,000 has collectively been raised with 100% of the proceeds going toward the Closing Cost Assistance Grant Program.More than 150 families in our community have been given the keys to their first homes due to the overwhelming financial success of "A Taste of Santa Cruz".
